Society of American Foresters Honors University of Idaho Professor

Jo Ellen Force, chair of the department of forest, rangeland, and fire sciences at the University of Idaho, has been selected to received the Gifford Pinchot Medal from the Society of American Foresters. Professor Force is being recognized for her 30 years of work in the field of forestry. Her research focuses on forest policy and the social science aspects of forest ecosystems.

Dr. Force is a graduate of Iowa State University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in systems engineering/analysis from Ohio State University.
