In Memoriam: Margaret Egan Mistry, 1938-2013

mistryMargaret Mistry, a senior professor in the department of languages and cultures at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, was killed in a traffic accident on September 13. Dr. Mistry hit a deer while driving on Colorado Highway 115. She got out of her vehicle to check on the deer and was struck by another passing motorist.

Dr. Mistry was a native of New York. She earned master’s degrees in Spain and at the University of Michigan and a doctorate in education from the University of Colorado at Denver. She had taught Spanish at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs since 1984 and was teaching three courses this fall. She was also the faculty adviser for the university’s radio station.
