Four Women in New Teaching Roles at Coker College in South Carolina

coker-collegeCoker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, has announced the addition of nine new faculty members this fall. Four of the new hires are women.

khamiltonKaren Hamilton is a new associate professor and chair of the department of business administration. She was an associate professor of finance at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.

Dr. Hamilton is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree in instructional systems from Pennsylvania State University and a doctorate in business administration from Florida State University.

khapkeKristin Hapke is a visiting assistant professor of dance. She previously taught at the University of Washington.

Hapke is a graduate of the University of Oregon. She holds a master of fine arts degree in dance performance and choreography from Ohio State University in Columbus.

troseTrina Rose is a new assistant professor of sociology. She was a research analyst at the Center for International Security and Policy Research.

Dr. Rose is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Denver and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

msimsMeredith Sims is a new visiting assistant professor of dance. She was an instructor of dance at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Sims is a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Kentucky.
