Arizona State Law Professor Nominated to Be a Federal District Court Judge

diane_humetewa_hi-rezDiane Humetewa, a professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at Arizona State University, has been appointed by President Obama to serve on the United States District Court for Arizona.

In addition to her teaching duties, Professor Humetewa serves as special assistant to the university president for American Indian affairs. She also is a special counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at the university.

Professor Humetawa is a former U.S. Attorney and served from 2002 to 2007 as a judge on the Hopi Tribe Appellate Court. She holds bachelor’s and law degrees from Arizona State University.
