Texas Tech Scholar Named Teacher of the Year in Spanish and Portuguese

Pratt-2013-thumbComfort Pratt, professor of bilingual education and diversity studies in the College of Education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, was named the Outstanding Teacher of the Year at the college and university level by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The award was presented at the organization’s annual meeting in San Antonio.

Dr. Pratt holds a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish from the University of Ghana. She earned a postgraduate diploma in translation from Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. Professor Pratt holds a master’s degree in Spanish from Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in Romance linguistics from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She joined the faculty of Texas Tech in 2004.
