Two Women Named to Posts as Dean

MCKNIGHTNatalie McKnight was appointed interim dean of the College of General Studies at Boston University. She joined the faculty at Boston University in 1990 and served as chair of the humanities division from 1997 to 2011. Most recently, she has served as associate dean for faculty research and development and as director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning.

Dr. McKnight will serve as dean for at least the 2013-14 academic year. She is the author of Idiots, Madmen, and Other Prisoners in Dickens (St. Martin’s Press, 1992) and Suffering Mothers in Mid-Victorian Novels (Palgrave Macmillan, 1996).

A graduate of Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, Dr. McKnight holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Delaware.

Jessica Chambers is the new dean of student affairs at Hagerstown Community College in Maryland. She was the director of admissions at County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey.

Dr. Chambers is a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She holds a master’s degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida, and a doctorate from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
