Two New Women Administrators at Genesee Community College

Genesee_CC_LogoGenesee Community College in Batavia, New York, a campus of the State University of New York system, has announced the appointment of two women to administrative positions. The college, located east of Buffalo, enrolls about 7,200 students. Women make up 63 percent of the student body.

SchiefenKathleen Schiefen is the new provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. For the past four years, she has been dean of academic services for the Damon City campus of Monroe Community College, based in Rochester, New York. She is the former dean of Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Schiefen is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. She holds a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Capella University.

KristenSchuth-GCCKristen Clark Schuth is the new director of athletics at the college. She was the assistant athletics director at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, New York. She previously was the head softball coach at Genessee Community College.

Schuth is a graduate of the College at Brockport of the State University of New York system. She earned a master’s degree in sports management from California University of Pennsylvania.
