Patricia Finn Is the New President of the American Thoracic Society

FinnPatriciaPatricia Finn, professor and head of the department of medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine is the new president of the American Thoracic Society. The international society has more than 15,000 members. It is dedicated to research on pulmonary diseases, critical illnesses, and sleep-related breathing disorders.

Professor Finn’s research focuses on immune-mediated pulmonary diseases. She joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. Previously, Dr. Finn was the Kenneth M. Moser Professor of Medicine at the University of California at San Diego. She earned her medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
