Wellesley College Begins Major New Effort to Develop Global Women Leaders

logo-wwpWellesley College, the highly rated liberal arts college for women in Massachusetts, has established a new initiative,  entitled Women World Partners, that seeks to develop the next generation of women leaders. Its first partner in the venture is Peking University in China.

The college states that is has “innovated an educational model for training women for leadership on a global scale—a pedagogy based on a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to problem solving. The goal is to share this unique model to help create the next generation of women leaders around the world.”

To inaugurate the collaboration, 20 Wellesley students are in Beijing to participate in an intensive 10-day academic program with 20 female students from Peking University. In 2014, Peking University students will travel to the Wellesley College campus where they will join Wellesley students for another joint academic program supported by faculty from both institutions
