Three Women in New Faculty Roles

Robin RobertsRobin Roberts, who has been serving for the past two years as dean of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, was appointed professor of English at the university. She previously served on the faculty at Louisiana State University.

A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Professor Roberts holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Pennsylvania.

champagneErin Champagne was appointed an assistant professor of ophthalmology in the department of small animal clinical sciences at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She was an ophthamologist at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University.

Dr. Champagne holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology and a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Louisiana State University.

MarcanoDonna-Dale Marcano, associate professor of philosophy at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, was named director of the college’s Human Rights Program.

Dr. Marcano has served on the Trinity College faculty since 2005. She is a graduate of the Notre Dame of Maryland University and holds a master’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C. and a Ph.D. from the University of Memphis. She is the co-editor of Convergences: Black Feminism and Continental Philosophy (State University of New York Press, 2010).
