Three Women Appointed to New Faculty Positions

dovewithhorsePatricia Dove was named University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has been serving as the C.P. Miles Professor of Science in Geoscience at Virginia Tech.

Professor Dove holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and earned a Ph.D. at Princeton University.

boylewebDiane Boyle was named to the Excellence Chair in Nursing at the University of Wyoming’s Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing. She has been serving as deputy director of the National Database of Quality Indicators at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She joined the faculty at the University of Kansas in 1994.

Dr. Boyle is a graduate of the University of Maryland. She holds a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Kansas.

johnson-roehrSusan Johnson-Roehr was appointed an assistant professor of art at the University of Virginia. She is a recent recipient of a New Faculty Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies.

Dr. Johnson-Roehr holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington and Western Washington University. She earned two master’s degrees at the University of Oregon and a Ph.D. in art from the University of Illinois.
