UConn Scholar Recognized by the Association for Asian American Studies

Cathy J. Schlund-Vials, an associate professor of English and Asian American studies and director of the Asian American Studies Institute in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut, is being honored with the Early Career Award from the Association for Asian American Studies.
She is being honored for her scholarship including the books Modeling Citizenship: Jewish and Asian American Writing (Temple University Press, 2011) and War, Genocide, and Justice: Cambodian American Memory Work (University of Minnesota Press, 2012).
Dr. Schlund-Vials joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut in 2007. She is a graduate of the University of Texas and earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
