Three Women Appointed to Lead Academic Centers

Susan-FaganSusan C. Fagan has been appointed the founding director of the Center for Pharmacy and Experimental Therapeutics at the Medical College of Georgia on the campus of Georgia Regents University in Augusta. She will continue to serve as the assistant dean in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia. She has served on the University of Georgia faculty since 1999.

Dr. Fagan earned her doctor of pharmacy degree from the State University of New York.

hoganWesley C. Hogan was named director of the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. The center was founded in 1989 as the first university-affiliated institution in the U.S. dedicated to the study of documentary arts. Since 2003, Dr. Hogan has served on the faculty at Virginia State University. She will begin her new job on July 1. She is the author of the award-winning book Many Minds, One Heart: SNCC’s Dream for a New America (University of North Carolina Press, 2007).

Professor Hogan holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in history from Duke University.

Eby-Lillian-Lillian Eby, a professor of psychology at the University of Georgia, was appointed director of the university’s William A. and Barbara R. Owens Institute for Behavioral Research. The institute sponsors interdisciplinary research on important national issues such as education, healthcare, and conservation. More than 45 faculty members at the University of Georgia are affiliated with the institute.

Professor Eby has been on the faculty at the University of Georgia since 1996. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and holds a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Tennessee.
