Sexual Misconduct Complaints Filed Against Four Colleges and Universities

pic-aboutAt a news conference in New York City, Attorney Gloria Allred announced the filing of complaints relating to sexual misconduct against four colleges and universities. The suits allege that the educational institutions either have inadequately dealt with sexual assaults and other misconduct or that they failed to report incidents of sexual assaults to the federal government, as required by law.

The complaints were filed against the University of Southern California, the University of California at Berkeley, Swarthmore College, and Dartmouth College. Allred stated, “We are asking the United States Department of Education to open an investigation into these complaints and take appropriate actions to force these colleges to comply with the law or risk losing their federal funding.”

Gloria Allred is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a master’s degree from New York University and her law degree from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles. She is the author of Fight Back and Win: My Thirty-Year Fight Against Injustice — And How You Can Win Your Own Battles (William Morrow, 2006).
