Lori Bergen Elected to Lead the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication

BergenLori Bergen, dean of the William and Mary Diederich College of Communication at Marquette University in Milwaukee, was elected vice president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. After taking on this role for a two-year term in October, she will become president of the association in the fall of 2015.

Before joining the faculty at Marquette University in 2009, Dr. Bergen taught at Southwest Texas State University, Wichita State University, Kansas State University, and Texas State University. She is the co-author of Media Violence and Aggression: Science and Ideology (Sage Publications, 2007).

Dr. Bergen holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kansas State University and a Ph.D. in mass communication from Indiana University in Bloomington.
