Two Women Appointed to Named Professorships at the University of Nebraska

nebraskaThe University of Nebraska at Lincoln has announced the appointment of four faculty members to Susan J. Rosowski Professorships. These positions, for faculty at the associate professor level, recognize distinguished records of scholarship or creativity and honor those faculty members who show exceptional promise for future excellence. Two of the four faculty members named to these positions are women.

jcastroJoy Castro was appointed the Susan J. Rosowski associate professor of English. She joined the faculty at the university in 2007. She is the author of The Truth Book: Escaping a Childhood of Abuse Among Jehovah’s Witnesses (Arcade Books, 2005). Dr. Castro is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and holds master’s and doctoral degrees from Texas A&M University.

myracohenMyra B. Cohen was named the Susan J. Rosowski associate professor of computer science and engineering. She joined the faculty in 2004 and was promoted to associate professor and granted tenure in 2010. Dr. Cohen is a graduate of Cornell University. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Vermont and a Ph.D. at the University of Auckland in New Zealand.
