Three Women in New Faculty Roles

janinehillerJanine Hiller was named the Richard E. Sorensen Professor of Finance at the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Professor Hiller has served on the faculty at Virginia Tech since 1981.

Professor Hiller is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the law school at the University of Richmond.

yolandavega_1Yolanda Vega was named an assistant professor of education and director of the Phelps Scholars Program at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She was serving as the assistant director of the Upward Bound program at the college. She has been on the staff at the college since 1990.

Vega is a graduate of Hope College and holds a master’s degree in education from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.

White-ClaireClaire White was appointed assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Princeton University in New Jersey. Dr. White has been conducting postdoctoral research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. She will begin her new assignment on August 1.

Dr. White holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and civil engineering and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, all from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
