Smith College President Wins the Smith College Medal

Christ_048Carol T. Christ, who is stepping down as president of Smith College at the end of the academic year, received the Smith College Medal at the college’s Rally Day convocation. President Christ, who has led Smith College for the past 11 years, was honored for her “pioneering leadership for the education of women around the world.”

Before coming to Smith College, Dr. Christ was provost at the University of California at Berkeley. She is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds a Ph.D. from Yale University.
