Kansas State Promotes Seven Women to Full Professor

Kansas State University in Manhattan recently announced the promotion of 26 faculty members to the rank of full professor. Of the 26 new full professors, seven are women.

Laura Armbrust was promoted to full professor of clinical sciences. She holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Kansas State University.

Elizabeth Davis was named full professor clinical sciences. She is the head of equine medicine and surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Davis holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University.

Sherry Haar was appointed professor of apparel, textiles, and interior design. Dr. Haar holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and a Ph.D. in apparel product design and analysis from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Laurel Littrell was named professor of library planning and assessement. Dr. Littrell earned a master’s degree in library science from Emporia State University in 1997 and has a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Composition from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Caterina Scoglio is a professor of electrical and computer engineering. Prior to joining the Kansas State faculty in 2005, she taught at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Christine Wilson was promoted to full professor of agricultural economics. After teaching at Purdue University, in 2008 Dr. Wilson was named assistant dean of academic programs for current student services and retention at College of Agriculture at Kansas State. She holds bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees, all from Kansas State University.

Naomi Wood was appointed professor of English. She specializes in literature for and about children with particular interest in Victorian literature and culture. Professor Wood holds a Ph.D. from Duke University.
