In Memoriam: Rene Kuhn Bryant, 1923-2013

Obit-Photo-Bryant_605Rene Kuhn Bryant, author, editor, and former faculty member in the expository writing program at Harvard University, died late last month after a long illness. She was 89 years old.

Bryant was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Early in her career she as a press officer for the U.S. embassy in London. She later worked Life magazine and as associate editor of the Harvard Library Bulletin. Her husband Douglas Wallace Bryant, who preceded her in death, was director of the Harvard University Library.

Rene Kuhn Bryant was the author of two novels, 34 Charlton and Cornelia. From 1978 to 1985, she taught writing at Harvard College.
