Carleton College Professor Taking Leave to Direct NSF’s Undergraduate Education Division

singerSusan Singer, the Laurence McKinley Gould Professor of the Natural Sciences at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, has announced that she will take a leave of absence from her teaching duties to serve as the director of the National Science Foundation’s Division of Undergraduate Education. The division sets goals and supports curriculum develop to support science education at two- and four-year colleges in the United States.

Dr. Singer has been on the Carleton College faculty since 1986 and is past chair of the department of biology. Professor Singer earned bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees, all from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
