Wesleyan University Names Its Next Provost

Ruth-StriegelWesleyan University, the highly rated liberal arts college in Middletown, Connecticut, has announced that on July 1 Ruth H. Striegel will become provost and vice president of academic affairs. She is currently professor of psychology and the Walter A. Crowell University Professor of the Social Sciences at Wesleyan. Her research focuses on the causes and effects of eating disorders. She is the editor of the International Journal of Eating Disorders.

Dr. Striegel is a graduate of Eberhard-Karls University in Tuebingen, Germany. She holds a master’s degree from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of South Carolina.
