University of Rochester Scholar Earns Highest Honor of the American Pediatric Society

McAnarneyElizabeth R. McAnarney, professor and chair emerita of pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center, has been selected to receive the 2013 John Howland Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the American Pediatric Society. Dr. McAnarney is being honored for her work to develop the board-certified subspeciality of adolescent medicine. She will receive the award at the society’s annual meeting in Washington this May.

Dr. McAnarney joined the University of Rochester faculty in 1968. She is a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and earned her medical degree at SUNY’s Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
