Tufts Dean Named 2013 Engineering Leader of The Year

Abriola, dean of the School of Engineering at Tufts University in Massachusetts, was named the 2013 Engineering Leader of the Year by the College of Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She is the first woman engineer to win the award. She is being honored for her work in environmental engineering and for her service to the National Academy of Engineering.

In addition to her position as dean, Dr. Abriola serves as a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Tufts. Prior to being named dean, she was the Horace Williams King Collegiate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Abriola is a graduate of Drexel University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from Princeton University.
