The Colleges Where Women Are Most Likely to Join Sororities

There are more than 300,000 women undergraduate students nationwide who belong to sororities. At some colleges a large percentage of all women students join these organizations.

592247_131044766962335_1376068402_nAccording to rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Welch College in Nashville, Tennessee, has the highest percentage of sorority membership. There are only about 135 women on campus but 98 percent of them are members of a sorority. At Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, 90 percent of the women students are sorority members. Following is a list of the other schools in the top ten nationwide in their percentage of women students who are sorority members.

5. Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia (79%)

6. York College, York, Nebraska (70%)

7. Sewanee-University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee (69%)

8. DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, (63%)

9. Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi (56%)

10. Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina (55%)
