President of Madison College Announces Her Retirement

barhorstBettsey Barhorst, who has served as president of Madison College in Wisconsin since 2004, has announced that she will step down before the start of the fall semester. Madison College, also known as Madison Area Technical College, enrolls more than 40,000 students on five campuses.

Before becoming president at Madison College, Dr. Barhorst was president of Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. Previously, she served on the faculty of Illinois Central College in Peoria, Bradley University, and the Webster University campus in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Barhorst is a graduate of Fontbonne University in St. Louis. She holds master’s degrees from Webster University and Bradley University and earned an educational doctorate at Illinois State University.
