The University of Iowa Surveys All of Its Undergraduates on Issues of Sexual Misconduct

The Council on the Status of Women at the University of Iowa is conducting an extensive survey of all undergraduate students on their experiences with unwelcome sexual behavior.

The 42-question survey was sent by e-mail to all undergraduates and takes students about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The email contained a message from the university’s president urging all students to respond. There are four sections in the survey: general demographic information, assessment of the university’s policies and practices relating to sexual assault and harassment, student experiences with unwelcome sexual behavior, and student experiences with sexual assault.

The results of the study are expected to be announced during the spring semester.
