Judith Jarvis Thomson Honored for Lifetime Achievement in Philosophy

jarvisJudith Jarvis Thomson, professor emerita of philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has been awarded the 2012 Quinn Prize from the American Philosophical Association. The award is given in recognition of her lifelong contributions to the field of philosophy.

Professor Thomson joined the MIT faculty in 1964. She is the author of Rights, Restitution and Risk: Essays in Moral Theory (Harvard University Press, 1986), The Realm of Rights (Harvard University Press, 1990), Goodness and Advice (Princeton University Press, 2001), and Normativity (Open Court Press, 2008).
