Stanford Professor Is a Candidate for Dean of the College of Science at the University of Idaho

Renee Reijo Pera is one of four finalists, and the only woman in the group, who are interviewing for the position of dean of the College of Sciences at the University of Idaho. Currently, Dr. Reijo Pera is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of the Center for Reproductive and Stem Cell Biology at Stanford University in California. She is also director of the university’s Center for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research and Education.

Dr. Reijo Pera is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She earned a master’s degree at Kansas State University and a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She conducted postdoctoral research at the Whitehead Institute for BioMedical Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
