MIT to Open a New Childcare Facility

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has taken a major step to become more worker-friendly for faculty and staff with children. The university has announced plans to build a 14,000-square-foot Technology Children’s Center that will more than double the on-campus childcare capacity for university faculty, staff, and graduate students.

The new center will have space for 126 children from infants to preschoolers. There will be 11 classrooms and outdoor play space. The new center is expected to open in the summer of 2013.
