University of Kentucky Scholar Honored for Her Research on Domestic Violence

Dianne Follingstad, the Women’s Circle Endowed Chair in the Center for Research on Violence Against Women at the University of Kentucky, received the Linda Saltzman Memorial Intimate Partner Violence Research Award at the 17th International Conference on Violence, Abuse, and Trauma in San Diego.

Dr. Follingstad was honored for her research on battered women, physical dating violence, and factors impacting jury verdicts in cases where battered women had killed their partners. Her current research focuses on women who develop prescription drug problems after experience psychological maltreatment.

Dr. Follingstad holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado.
