Smartphone App for Washington Area College Students Targets Sexual Violence

The mayor’s office in Washington D.C., and organization Men Can Stop Rape are offering a smartphone app that can be downloaded for free and used by students at eight universities in the District of Columbia. The U ASK (University Assault Services Knowledge) app offers students an easy-to-use way to immediately alert police and/or campus security as well as providing a direct contact link to health care providers and counseling services. Users of the app can make one click and immediately talk to a trained counselor at RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network).
