University of California Santa Barbara Professor Wins Book Award

Suzanne Jill Levine, a professor of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of California at Santa Barbara, has been selected to receive the 2012 Literary Award for Translation from PEN Center USA. Dr. Levine was honored for her translation of A Lizard’s Tale: A Novel by Chilean author Jose Donoso. The book was published by Northwestern University Press last fall. Professor Levine will received the award at the 22nd annual Literary Award Festival at the Beverly Hills Hotel on October 22.

Professor Levine holds a Ph.D. from New York University.
