Sara Bon-Harper Named Executive Director of Ash Lawn-Highland

Sara Bon-Harper was named the executive director of Ash Lawn-Highland, the historic estate in Charlottesville, Virginia, that was once the home of U.S. President James Monroe. The property is owned by the College of William and Mary. She will be responsible for overseeing the home’s museum, its collection of art and furnishings, a 535-acre working farm, and the many educational programs at Ash Lawn-Highland.

Dr. Bon-Harper has been serving as the archaeological research manager at Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona and holds a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has taught at Chapel Hill, the University of Virginia, and the University of Bradford in England.
