Jeannette Andrews to Lead the College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina

Jeannette Andrews was selected as the next dean of the College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina. She will take on her new position at the beginning of the year. Currently, she is associate dean for research at the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Nursing. Before taking her present position, Dr. Andrews was chair of biobehavioral nursing at the Medical College of Georgia.

“Jeannette Andrews emerged as the clear choice from a very strong group of finalists. She brings to USC an outstanding research record and a strong commitment to nursing education and practice,” said Michael Amiridis, provost at the University of South Carolina. “I am confident that her leadership will continue to advance our College of Nursing, creating unique opportunities for our undergraduate and graduate students and an excellent work environment for our faculty and staff.”

Dr. Andrews earned her doctorate at the University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on smoking cessation programs for women.
