Five Women Join the Faculty at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut

Trinity College, the highly rated liberal arts college in Hartford, Connecticut, has announced the appointment of nine scholars to its faculty. Five of the nine new faculty members are women.

Cheyenne S. Brindle was appointed assistant professor of chemistry. She is a graduate of Reed College in Portland, Oregon and earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry at Stanford University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the American Cancer Society and Harvard University.

Meredith E. Safran was named assistant professor of classics. She has been serving as a visiting assistant professor of classics at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. Dr. Safran is a graduate of Columbia University. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.

Lisa R. Schulkind was hired as an assistant professor of economics. She is a graduate of Union College. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at the University of California at Davis. Her doctoral dissertation was on fertility and infant health.

Kari L. Theurer is a new assistant professor of philosophy. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where she double majored in biology and philosophy. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at Indiana University.

Abigail Fisher Williamson was appointed assistant professor of political science and public policy and law. She is a graduate of Williams College, where she majored in Russian and political science. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in public policy from Harvard University.
