Vicky Carwein Named Chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne

Vicky L. Carwein was named the ninth chancellor of the Fort Wayne campus of Indiana University-Purdue University. Since 2006, she has been serving as chancellor of the Washington State University Tri-Cities campus in Richland. Prior to that, she served as president at Westfield State College in Massachusetts and was chancellor at the University of Washington at Tacoma. She spent 23 years on the faculty of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and served as dean of the College of Health Sciences.

Dr. Carwein is a native of Indiana and earned a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate in nursing from Indiana University. She also holds a master’s degree from the University of California at San Francisco.
