The Youngest Person to Earn a Ph.D. at the University of California Riverside

Dr. Juliet Beni is a graduate teaching assistant at the University of California Riverside. Many of her students are younger than she is. Beni, at age 19, is the youngest person to ever be awarded a doctorate from the University of California at Riverside.

Dr. Beni, whose parents are both engineering professors at the university, went to a Montessori preschool. She was then homeschooled and started taking classes at a community college at age 8. She entered the University of California at Riverside at age 12.

Here is a video of Dr. Beni when she was 15 years old and was an undergraduate senior at the university.

She will conduct postdoctoral research in biomedical sciences this fall at the University of California at Riverside and plans to pursue a career in medicine.
