Laurie Ann Guerrero Wins the Andres Montoya Poetry Prize

Laurie Ann Guerrero has been selected as the winner of the Andres Montoya Poetry Prize from the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame. The prize is awarded for the first full-length book of poetry by a Hispanic poet residing in the United States. Her book of poems, entitled A Tongue in the Mouth of Dying, will be published by the University of Notre Dame Press in 2013.

Guerrero, a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, is an instructor at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, Texas.
