Lauren Robel Named Provost at Indiana University

Lauren K. Robel was appointed provost and executive vice president at Indiana University in Bloomington. She has been serving as interim provost since February. Previously, she was dean of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She is the current president of the Association of American Law Schools.

In announcing the appointment, Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie stated, “In the few months Lauren has been interim provost, she has taken complete ownership of the role, earning the trust of her colleagues across the university and working tirelessly to improve the academic environment for our undergraduate students in Bloomington.”

Robel is a graduate of Auburn University in Alabama and a summa cum laude graduate of the Indiana University School of Law. She has been on the faculty at Indiana University since 1985 and was named dean of the law school in 2003.
