Boston College Professor Wins Notable Book Award

Kay L. Schlozman, the J. Joseph Moakley Professor of Political Science at Boston College, has been selected to receive the 2012 American Association of Public Opinion Research Book Award. Professor Scholzman and her coauthors Sidney Verba of Harvard University and Henry E. Brady of the University of California, are being honored for their book Voice and Equality: Civic Voluntarism in American Politics (Harvard University Press). The award will be presented at the association’s annual conference in Orlando.

Professor Schlozman joined the Boston College faculty in 1974. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she majored in sociology. Dr. Schlozman holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Chicago.
