Two Women Appointed to Endowed Chairs

Nancy Staudt was named the first holder of the Edward G. Lewis Chair in Law at the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California. She joined the USC faculty in 2011 after teaching at the Northwestern University School of Law.

Professor Staudt is an expert on tax law and tax policy. She is the author of The Judicial Power of the Purse: How Courts Fund National Defense in Times of Crisis (Chicago University Press, 2011).

Staudt is a graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota Law School. She holds a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Chicago.

Andrea Giunta is the inaugural holder of the Endowed Chair in Latin American Art History in the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. The funds for the endowed chair were provided by profits from the Longhorn Network, a television operation which showcases the university’s sports teams.

Professor Giunta is the director of the university’s Center for Latin American Visual Studies. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
