The New President of Tidewater Community College

Edna Baehre-Kolovani has been named the fifth president of Tidewater Community College in Virginia. The college operates campuses in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake. The college enrolls about 31,000 students in credit courses. About 60 percent are women.

Dr. Baehre-Kolovani will take office this summer. Currently, she is president of Napa Valley College in California. From 1997 to 2010, she was president of Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Baehre-Kolovani is a graduate of Paedagogische Hochschule in Heidelberg, Germany. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University at Buffalo, part of the State University of New York system.
