Lois Margaret Nora Named CEO of the American Board of Medical Specialties

Lois Margaret Nora, interim president and dean of the Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, was named president and chief executive officer of the American Board of Medical Specialties, the not-for-profit organization that oversees physician certification in the United States. She will assume her new role on June 29.

Dr. Nora formerly was president and dean of medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University and previously was professor and associate dean of academic affairs and administration at the University of Kentucky’s College of Medicine.

Dr. Nora is a graduate of the Rush Medical College in Chicago and the University of Chicago School of Law. She holds an MBA from the University of Kentucky.
