Cindy Hahamovitch Wins a Trio of Book Awards

Cindy Hahamovitch, professor of history at the College of William and Mary, has received three awards for her latest book, No Man’s Land: Jamaican Guestworkers in America and the Global History of Deportable Labor (Princeton University Press). Her previous book was The Fruits of Their Labor: Atlantic Coast Farmworkers and the Making of Migrant Poverty, 1870-1945 (University of North Carolina Press).

No Man’s Land received the Philip Taft Labor History Book Award. Professor Hahamovitch also won the Merle Curti Award for the best book on American social or intellectual history from the Organization of American Historians (OAH). The OAH also awarded her the James A. Rawley Prize in American History for the best book of the year on race relations in the United States.

Professor Hahamovitch holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
