University of Nevada Offers Free Therapy Sessions for Victims of Domestic Violence

The psychology department at the University of Nevada at Reno is offering a free group therapy program for women who have been victims of domestic violence. The workshops will have include seven-hour sessions on two separate days. The therapy groups will include between five and eight women and will be led by two professionals. Women can choose to repeat the program.

Lunch and snacks will be provided to participants. Women who agree to participate in pre and post-session assessments will be given a $50 stipend.

The program is funded by federal grants administered by the office of the Nevada attorney general and by funds from the university.
