University of Arkansas’ Kim Needy Voted President-Elect of the Institute of Industrial Engineers

Kim L. Needy, chair of the department of industrial engineering at the University of Arkansas, was named president-elect of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. She will serve for one-year as president-elect and will become president of the institute in April 2013. Dr. Needy has been involved with the institute since 1983 when she was president of the student chapter at the University of Pittsburgh.

Professor Needy joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas in 2008 after teaching at the University of Pittsburgh. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Ph.D. from Wichita State University in Kansas.
