Donna Nelson Named Oklahoma Chemist of the Year

Donna J. Nelson, professor of chemistry at the University of Oklahoma, received the 2012 Oklahoma Chemist Award at the Pentasectional Meeting of Oklahoma chemists. Professor Nelson has taught organic chemistry to nearly 10,000 students at the University of Oklahoma. She has also conducted extensive research on the progress of women and minorities into faculty posts in scientific disciplines at major research universities. This data can be found here.

Dr. Nelson is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and did postdoctoral research at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
