Archives of the Closed Dallas Women’s Museum Donated to Texas Woman’s University

The Dallas Women’s Museum closed its doors on October 31, 2011. But many of its exhibits will live on as part of the Women’s Collection at Texas Woman’s University in Denton. The collections include dolls, political buttons of women candidates, photographs, and artifacts from the Women Airforce Service Pilots.

“The Dallas Women’s Museum has found the perfect home for continuing its legacy and expanding awareness of women’s significant contributions to our nation and world,” said Sherilyn Bird, dean of the TWU Libraries. “TWU’s rich history as an institution for women uniquely qualifies the institution as an appropriate home for the archives and exhibits.”

Here is a brief video about the acquisition of the archives.
