American Medical Women’s Association Wins Award

The American Medical Women’s Association received the 2011 Women in Medicine Leadership Development Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges. The AMWA was honored for “its organizational commitment to advocating for the professional advancement of women in medicine and helping women in medicine realize their potential.”

Mary Guinan, founding dean of the School of Community Health Science at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and president of the AMWA, will accept the award at the Association of American Medical College’s annual meeting in Denver on November 8.
